Classwork and notes on the Old regimeThere were three classes (estates) in the Old Regime. The first two estates were the richest ones they were the Clergy and the Nobility. They didn't have to pay taxes and they enjoyedd all the benifits of France. The third estate was the Bourgeoisie. The Bourgeoisie had to pay all the taxes.
The 1st estate consisted of:

bishops
nuns
monks
The 2nd estate consisted of:
nobles
The third estate consisted of:
business owners
merchants
Poor people were starving, the rich people in the third estate saw an opportunity, because theyre upset that theyre not getting any power, so the rich convinced the poor to revolt against the Clergy and the Nobility.
How the French Revolution began:
The French Revolution began because the 3rd estate were tired of how they were being treated. The poor people in the third estate were tired of starving and the business owners were tired of not having any power, so the business owners convinced the merchants to revolt against the first two estates.

In my opionion the bad guys we both the first two estates and the third one. The first two were bad for giving the third estate trouble in the tax area, and pushing them to revolt. The third estate was bad because they killed all of the higher classes.
